We are one of only a few opticians in Suffolk to offer OCT 3D scans of your eyes. This advanced technology enables us to provide a more advanced eye examination than ever before. An OCT scan of your eye allows us to visualise the layers of the retina at the back of the eye in a similar way to a MRI or CAT scan. It provides a 3D image, enabling the Optometrist to pick up any problems at a much earlier stage. Many common diseases such as glaucoma, Macula Degeneration (AMD) and diabetes can damage the retina.
The 3D scan is not part of the NHS eye test but is performed as part of an extended examination. It is non-invasive, painless and quick! The images are stored on computer for comparison at future visits, providing the best way of monitoring the health of your eyes.
